Huisartsenpost en Thuiszorg Hotel Urmond sluiten definitief
De Huisartsenpost van het Coronacentrum Urmond sluit vanaf vrijdag 15 mei aanstaande om 17uur haar deuren. Ook het Thuiszorg Hotel Urmond, dat al drie weken in stand-by-modus stond, gaat definitief dicht.
De Huisartsenpost van het Coronacentrum Urmond gaat sluiten. De laatste Corona (-verdachte) patiënten worden op vrijdag 15 mei aanstaande gezien. Vanaf vrijdag 17uur nemen de eigen huisartsen (op werkdagen) en de huisartsenposten in de regio (in de avond- en weekenduren) de zorg weer over.
Dat betekent dat mensen met Corona-verdachte klachten, net als voorheen, eerst telefonisch contact opnemen met hun eigen huisarts. Op werkdagen plant de huisarts vervolgens een afspraak in de eigen huisartsenpraktijk. In de avond- en weekenduren bellen patiënten in Zuid-Limburg met de eigen Huisartsenpost in Heerlen, Sittard of Maastricht.
Veilig
Nu de druk van Corona-patiënten in Limburg verder afneemt, is het verantwoord om de patiënten weer bij de eigen huisarts te ontvangen. Alle huisartsen hebben daarvoor veiligheidsmaatregelen genomen, zodat niemand extra besmettingsrisico loopt.
Het blijft echter van belang dat patiënten eerst bellen met de eigen huisarts om een afspraak te maken.
Voorzitter Esther van Engelshoven van Huisartsen Oostelijk Zuid-Limburg: ”De Huisartsenpost van het Coronacentrum in Urmond heeft zijn functie voor de regio bewezen. We hebben in de afgelopen 7 weken meer dan 3000 patiënten op de Huisartsenpost gezien. Samen met de GGD stellen we al weken een duidelijke afname van de patiënten-aantallen vast. Daarnaast hebben de huisartsen in de afgelopen periode zelf hun praktijken dusdanig kunnen inrichten, dat de eigen patiënten er veilig en zonder risico’s kunnen komen."
Thuiszorg Hotel ook definitief dicht
Het Thuiszorg Hotel van het Coronacentrum Urmond werd drie weken geleden al in stand-by-modus gezet en zal nu ook definitief haar deuren sluiten. Voorzitter Jack Jansen: ”De behoefte was niet groot meer en er was ruim voldoende beddencapaciteit in de regio. Dat beeld is in de afgelopen weken niet meer veranderd. Daarom hebben we samen met GGD besloten om het centrum definitief te sluiten. Dat doe we in de wetenschap dat zowel het Thuiszorg Hotel als de Huisartsenpost vele patiënten in deze regio hebben kunnen opvangen in de eerste weken van deze Corona-crisis”.
The GP out-of-hours service of the Corona Centre in Urmond will close its doors from 5:00 p.m. on Friday 15 May. The ‘Thuiszorg Hotel Urmond’ (Homecare Hotel Urmond), which has already been on stand-by for three weeks, will also close for good.
The GP out-of-hours service of the Corona Centre in Urmond is to close after the last patients with suspected or confirmed coronavirus have been seen there on Friday 15 May. From 5:00 p.m. on Friday, patients will again be cared for by their own GPs (on working days) and the regional GP out-of-hours services (evenings and weekends).
This means that, as before, people with suspected coronavirus symptoms will first contact their own GP by telephone. The GP will then arrange an appointment at the surgery on working days. In the evenings and at weekends, patients in Zuid-Limburg should phone their GP out-of-hours service in Heerlen, Sittard or Maastricht.
Safety
Now that the pressure from coronavirus patients in Limburg is easing further, it is justifiable for patients to visit their own GP again. To this end, all GPs have taken safety measures to ensure that nobody runs any additional risk of infection.
However, it is important for patients to telephone their GP first to make an appointment.
Esther van Engelshoven, chair of Huisartsen Oostelijk Zuid-Limburg (General Practitioners of Eastern Zuid-Limburg): ”The GP out-of-hours service of the Corona Centre in Urmond has proved its worth for the region. Over the past seven weeks, we have seen more than 3000 patients at the GP out-of-hours service. Together with the Municipal Health Service (GGD), we have been observing a clear decline in patient numbers for weeks now.
In addition, during the past weeks, general practitioners have been able to arrange their surgeries in such a way that they can receive their own patients safely and without risk.
Homecare Hotel also to close permanently
The Homecare Hotel of the Corona Centre in Urmond, which reduced pressure on hospitals by caring for patients too ill to stay at home but not ill enough to need hospital treatment, was put on stand-by three weeks ago and will now also close its doors for good. Chair Jack Jansen: ”There was no longer any great demand and there was sufficient bed capacity in the region. This picture has not changed over recent weeks. We have therefore decided, together with the GGD, to close the centre permanently. We are doing this in the knowledge that both the Homecare Hotel and the GP out-of-hours service succeeded in dealing with a large number of patients in this region in the first weeks of this corona crisis.”
